Richard Hibbert chaired his first KBSA AGM Conference and Awards Ceremony earlier this week. Richard promised that 2017 would be the best KBSA AGM conference ever and it certainly delivered.
The KBSA has hailed it as its best AGM yet, as more retailers attended the event than ever before. Why was it such a success? Feedback from last year’s event had been taken on board, and the changes to the format and new features added, delivered a real to benefit to the retailers attending.
The care and time taken to source the right speakers made an enormous difference as well. Sir Clive Woodward was the keynote speaker in a line-up that included entrepreneur Richard Askam and respected property journalist and broadcaster Michael Holmes.
Sir Clive used his experience as the World Cup winning head coach who led England’s rugby players to World Cup glory in Australia in 2003 and director of sport for Team GB at the London 2012, Vancouver 2010 and Beijing 2008 Olympics, to share his thoughts on how to build a team and the importance of teamship.
Compliments and ‘Thank Yous’ have been coming in thick and fast to Richard, Dawn Harlow (Membership Manager), Carol Downing (PR Manager) and Uwe Hanneck (KBSA’s acting CEO) for organising what was a truly great event:
“Congratulations on delivering a great conference. I know that the time spent at the conference will add great value to our business!”
“What a great event! Amazing speakers and a good turnout so really well done for moving things forwards so quickly at the KBSA!”
“A quick note to say congratulations on a superb AGM event.”
“I just wanted to say thank you for a great evening. I had many interesting conversations and the presentations were both inspiring and thought provoking.”
“Can I just say a huge well done to Uwe, Dawn, Carol and Richard. For me it was the best event so far. Well done.”
“Very enjoyable couple of days, best AGM & Awards I’ve been to so far.”
Richard reflects on the success of event. “I have been completely blown away by everyone’s amazing feedback – from huge Corporate companies to individual businesses. It has been extremely humbling. The positivity towards the KBSA means we can take advantage of that and grow. People are already asking what we’re planning for next year!”
If you did not attend this year, then don’t miss 2018. The date will be announced soon.
