This luxury ensuite bathroom was designed for a 1960s home that was being completely redeveloped by our client.

Challenge

Our client in Sudbury wanted to achieve a luxurious finish for this master ensuite in their home. An architect had created a design for our client which needed to be reconsidered as it didn’t include a walk-in shower. KSL were recommended to our client and were asked to review the design of the bathroom and to supply and install the ensuite.

Solution

To include a walk-in shower, KSL built a wall between the shower and WC. This created the enclosed area required for showering. Wet room marble mosaic floor tiles were installed to help define the floor area for the shower versus the rest of the room.

The Axor square rainmaker shower provides a gratifying showering experience. The Axor shower technology that mixes water with air and makes the water droplets plumper, lighter and softer creating a pleasant experience on the skin.

The use of marble throughout the bathroom, along with high quality fittings, creates an opulent feel.

Lighting was key to provide a relaxing experience. We created Corian recesses with added LED lighting to brighten the recess areas and the room itself. Behind the basin we built in a false wall that we mounted a Keuco mirror with storage behind. For additional decadent touches we added LED lights to the sides of the mirror recess and also LEDs to the top of the cistern.

A Villeroy and Bosch unit underneath the basin provides out of sight storage for toiletries, spare toilet rolls etc. Along with the glass fronted vanity unit from Keuco, we created ample storage whilst still giving a feeling of space.

Above the laundry unit we incorporated a Keuco cosmetic mirror where the brightness and colour of the light can be altered. Using this mirror either a daytime or evening light effect can be created, providing the perfect light for applying make-up.

“Working with marble is always a challenge due to the differences in colour and vein patterns. Plus the time required to seal what is a naturally soft and porous stone. However when marble is used well the effect is amazing and its beauty is clearly apparent. I am delighted that the client is happy with the result.”
